All of the violence and profane language has been cut, and the movie has been padded with added footage as well as repeated shots. The "lost version" of Mad Max 2 was created for television audiences in USA and Australia back around 1984 or so. The differences are minor, but completists will no doubt need to see this hard to find version. Extra footage includes a longer shot of Wez pulling the arrow from his arm, more footage of the rape and murder of the female driver, extra dialogue in Papagalo's speech to his people.
This version of the film is the original R18 Australian version, with some additional footage and without the dubbed voices which are apparent on the US version of the film. Fuel has become a priceless commodity, and in exchange for some gas, Max agrees to help a refining community defend their resources from the attacks of a sadistic biker gang. Mel Gibson's Max returns, wandering about the Australian desert after nuclear war has devastated the landscape.
